Free range, back yard Muscovy ducks can make their nests in many different locations and I have some nest examples from my Muscovies to show you in this video.
I have plenty of straw available to my Muscovy Ducks, as I use it in the coop sleeping area and the garden, so it is used for nesting material by many of my ducks but not all. The laying Girls start laying their eggs, usually one a day and some start to line their chosen nest location with down feathers, that they pluck out from their chest / under belly area. Once they have laid enough eggs (even if they have been collected) they can go broody and start to sit on their nest. I cover this more in my Videos -
